Scared + Doing it Anyway
You know that feeling...the knot in your stomach, sweaty palms, heart racing with all the “what ifs.”
What if I fail? What if people judge me? What if I’m not good enough?
Yeah, I’ve been there too. And what I’ve learned (sometimes the hard way) is that fear usually shows up when something actually matters to us. The mistake we make is thinking fear means stop. But most of the time? Fear is just a sign we’re about to grow.
Here’s the truth: if you wait until you’re no longer scared, you’ll probably be waiting forever.
But if you let yourself be scared and do it anyway. If you move forward with shaky knees, a trembling voice, or a pounding heart, that’s where the magic lives. That’s where you meet the part of yourself that’s braver than you realized.
Some things that help me when I’m scared:
- I name the fear out loud. It instantly softens the grip.
- I take the tiniest most simpliest step forward.
- I remind myself of my "why"
- And I tell myself: it’s okay to be uncomfortable, I can do hard things.
Being scared isn’t a problem. It’s a sign you’re alive, that you care, that you’re expanding. So next time fear shows up, don’t back away. Walk with it. That’s how you grow into the person you’re becoming.
